Our Reset Strategy 2025-2030
Every five years, SA Power Networks develops a Regulatory proposal (Reset) for the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), outlining our plans for the distribution network and how we will meet our customers’ needs while providing a fair return to the business.
We’re about to begin our Reset Engagement for the 2025-2030 regulatory period, which will be focused on:
Strong and genuine engagement with our customers, paving the way for them to be at the centre of our future decision-making.
Focusing on what is important to our customers, to streamline our efforts and costs.
High-quality analysis, models, and data that underpin our proposal and align with the AER expectations.
A clear and simple narrative that our customers can understand and engage with us.
Our Engagement Approach
Our Community Advisory Board (CAB) played a significant role in co-designing and endorsing our Engagement Approach. The contextual stages of our Engagement Plan are now complete, and we commenced the formal aspects of our engagement in February 2022.
As outlined below, our engagement plan enables us to actively consult customers and stakeholders on their expectations and priorities through a variety of research and engagement activities, both quantitative and qualitative.
This feedback will help us to progressively narrow down the options and pathways to achieve a balance of services and price outcomes to best meet both customer and business needs. In addition, we’ll also engage bilaterally with other major stakeholders such as the AER, ESCOSA, and the SA Government throughout the process. ESCOSA's Electricity Distribution Code sets out consumer protections that apply to the distribution of electricity to customers in South Australia. To read more about the Code, click here.
After consulting with our Community Advisory Board (CAB), we were able to identify and develop four key themes outlining our engagement plan.

1. Who in the public would know about your Reset Strategy program? It was only by chance through an email regarding future feed-in charges that you told me. 2. You ask for comments but are limited to 300 characters. What a joke. Your obviously not serious about feed back. 27 characters left.. 6

Engagement approach is clear and understandable. No mention of strategies to get off the grid or alternate ways to be self sufficient when using power.
