Dynamic Exports Technical Requirements

The Government of South Australia has introduced new Dynamic Exports Requirements as part of the regulatory changes for Smarter Homes, requiring all exporting solar systems to be capable of receiving and adhering to site export limits via IEEE 2030.5: 2018 using CSIP-AUS. These regulatory changes mean that all exporting systems installed after this date will be able to enrol in SA Power Networks' Flexible Exports connection option as it becomes available. This is aligned with our plans to make Flexible Exports a standard connection offering for customers after the completion of our trial, coinciding with the commencement of the SA Government's new regulations (see Notice to Industry for details).

CSIP-AUS is set to form the national standard for enabling smart inverters and energy management systems to be compatible with dynamic connection offerings such as Flexible Exports.

To assist with understanding the technical requirements, please refer to this diagram outlining the relationship between the relevant documents and the suggested reading order (on the right).
