The current priorities and focus areas for the TAG are:
Firm Energy Reliability Mechanism (FERM):
The group is seeking greater transparency regarding the costs and impacts of the FERM, introduced by the SA Government in September 2025. Discussions with ElectraNet are ongoing to clarify cost structures and ensure customers are informed about potential impacts on energy pricing.Advisory Group Collaboration and Broader Engagement:
The TAG is exploring opportunities for collaboration with other advisory groups, such as the Community Advisory Group (CAG) and Vulnerable Customer Advisory Group (VCAG), to align efforts and share insights. A review of the advisory group structure is planned before April 2026 to ensure it remains fit for purpose. Additionally, the group is working to improve website communications and customer education on tariffs and energy programs.
Reflections and 2026 Priorities:
The group has identified key priorities for 2026, including embedding the Reset Determination and Tariff Structure Statement (TSS), advancing the AEMC Pricing and Regulation Reviews, and developing innovative problem statements and trial tariffs. Members have expressed appreciation for the collaborative approach and the opportunity to contribute to SAPN’s initiatives, particularly in the areas of innovation, pricing, and customer outcomes.
