The current priorities and focus areas for the TAG are:
- Export Tariffs and Solar Integration:
Discussions are ongoing regarding the implementation of export tariffs introduced on 1 July 2025, which aim to recover costs for enabling solar exports while managing network congestion. Planned upgrades include transformer replacements, voltage management improvements, and SCADA system enhancements to support increased solar export capacity. A full year of data will be reviewed in 2026 to assess the impact and refine strategies. - Innovation and Trial Tariffs:
The $20M Innovation Fund continues to drive discussions on innovative projects that deliver customer benefits. Current focus includes trial tariffs like Diversify 2.0, which incentivises residential customers to connect devices to Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). The group is actively exploring new ideas for future innovation initiatives and trial tariffs to address evolving customer needs. - Long-Term Pricing Strategy and Customer Engagement:
Ongoing discussions are shaping SA Power Networks’ long-term pricing strategy, potentially covering the next 20 years. The group is working to improve customer education on Time of Use (TOU) tariffs and advocating for retailer adoption of new tariff structures, such as the extended Solar Sponge window, to better align pricing signals with network usage patterns.
