What is this survey about?

    The Shape Your Energy Future survey is a large, online survey that is seeking SA Power Networks’ customers' views on a range of service improvements or initiatives that SA Power Networks is considering investing in.

    Why is SA Power Networks doing this survey?

    Every five years, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) requires us to review the services that we offer to our customers and the prices we charge for those services. This review ensures that we deliver the types of services our customers want and are willing to pay for.  

    We are now planning for the 2025-2030 period and want to ask customers what’s important to them; the kinds of services they’d like us to offer and the price they are willing to pay for these services.  

    The responses from this survey will help us provide the information to find an appropriate balance between the services we offer and the cost to deliver them 

    How does it work?

    We are surveying our residential and business customers across South Australia to better understand their priorities and to find an appropriate balance between the proposed services and the costs to our customers.  

    When does the survey conclude?

    The survey will be run over two primary periods: 

    From 4 October 2022, a small number of participants will be invited to complete the survey and give us their feedback, for example was it easy to understand; was it easy to complete etc. We will use this feedback to make any final changes to the survey before we launch the survey more broadly 

    From 7 November 2022, we’ll be inviting more than 10,000 household and business customers to complete the survey.  

    I've received a link to the survey from the Talking Power email address. Is it legitimate?

    Yes. Invitations to complete the survey are being sent from SA Power Networks' Talking Power email address (talkingpower@sapowernetworks.com.au)

    Why are you offering the chance to enter a prize draw to participate?

    We recognise that the survey will take participants between 20-25 minutes to complete. In recognition of this we are inviting participants who complete the survey the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win a $200 EFTPOS gift card. We have 20 to give away. 

    How do I enter the prize draw?

    To be eligible to win a gift card, a customer must enter their details when prompted at the completion of the survey.

    How many prizes are available?

    We have a total of 20 gift cards to give away, 10 for residential customers and 10 for business customers.

    I answered some questions but was not prompted to enter my details for the prize draw.

    The survey is seeking the views of customers of SA Power Networks and is designed to eject responses from anyone who does not meet a range of criteria. If a participant is ejected from the survey because they do not meet this criterion, they will not be eligible to enter the competition.
