Every five years, SA Power Networks undergoes a regulatory reset process, submitting a Regulatory Proposal to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), detailing our proposed business operations and service delivery.

Following on from our Broad and Diverse engagement workshops and Focussed Conversations, the People’s Panel is the culmination of our engagement process.

When

The last weekend of the People's Panel, focusing on finalisation of priorities and tariffs was held on 4 and 5 March 2023. The session was be facilitated by democracyCo with staff members from SA Power Networks observing.

What did we discuss?

The weekend provided an opportunity for the Panel members to:

  • Consider the costings and finalise the prioritisation of the recommendations as well as which recommendations they agree should be included in the SA Power Networks regulatory proposal.
  • Make their recommendation on export tariffs.

Panel Members heard from Dr Andrew Nance from the Energy Project along with Dr. Bryn Williams and Helen White from SA Power Networks on the topic of Export Tariffs before deliberating on it further.

At the end of the weekend, the Panel presented the SA Power Networks Executive Leadership Team with their recommendations which will inform our 2025-2030 Proposal being submitted to the Australian Energy Regulator in January 2024.
