As part of our Regulatory Proposal 'Reset' Engagement for 2025-2030, we are holding a series of 'Focussed Conversation' workshops with our stakeholders and customers to engage deeply on priority topics and better understand their current needs and future priorities for electricity.

The Information Technology (IT) Focussed Conversation follows on from the Broad and Diverse workshops and the majority of the focussed conversations. Many of the initiatives discussed in previous conversations will be enabled, all or in part, by IT investments. IT capabilities enable every customer and business function. As the role of the distributor increases in the delivery of the electricity services, an IT investment will play a larger role in adapting, developing, scaling and efficiently delivering electricity services, allowing customers to be a part of the transition.

Please note: Our expenditure, revenue and price forecasts will continue to be refined as we go through the stages of our consumer engagement process and also incorporate the latest economic conditions. Therefore, the forecasts presented in the Focussed Conversations may vary from those that will be taken to our People's Panel in February 2023.

Who are we engaging with?

The IT Focussed Conversation is being held on Tuesday, 8 November 2022. This session follows our extensive engagement throughout the year and will help inform recommendations and a report to the Deliberative People's Panel later this year.

What are we engaging on?

The purpose of this focussed conversation is to:

  • Summarise the proposals from the other focussed workshops with material IT requirements and impacts.
  • Summarise the high-level proposals associated with maintaining our IT services.
  • Discuss the options associated with achieving expected Cyber Security and Resiliency compliance requirements for a critical utility.
  • Provide initial views of the price impacts of maintaining our IT services and meeting our compliance requirements.
