The current priorities and focus areas for the ACRAG are:
  • Improving Network Reliability and Performance: Focus on enhancing reliability for rural and low-performing feeders, supply restoration initiatives, and replacing aging assets to ensure consistent and dependable service.
  • Safety Awareness and Risk Reduction: Implementing campaigns to reduce fire starts, electric shocks, and risks associated with live wires and third-party equipment impacts, while educating the public and stakeholders on safety measures.
  • Preparing for Future Energy Demand: Addressing the growing impact of residential batteries and electric vehicles on the network by developing flexible solutions to manage peak energy demand without unnecessary asset expansion.

Advisory group members went on a bus tour around Mount Barker and surrounds to develop an awareness of the challenges of supplying a rapidly expanding population and community. It was a pity the rain kept us on board the bus for the tour however it was an educational day for all involved.
